Day 19 Prague is Full

Prague is full. It always happens on one weekend at Easter and one in August when the sheer number of tourists outweighs the city’s capacity to cope and the whole place creaks and groans like an old haunted house. They should have a policy like they do in discos, one in, one out. It’s horrible, shops are crowded, trams are full of people who don’t know where they are going and only decide to get off just as the doors are closing  and it takes an hour to walk 20 metres because of the crowds of people taking photographs of a man on a horse. To make matters worse by the time you’ve walked those 20 metres it has rained, dried and rained again. The weather today was enough to make anyone grumpy, neither one thing nor the other, a mishmash of conditions that had me sweating and shivering almost simultaneously. It was day out of April rather than August; bright, hot sunshine that forces you to remove your pac-a-mac before squally rain showers that don't give you time to unpack that mac and put it back on. Does the rain not know how much effort it takes to pack and unpack that damn cagoule? So all in all it was not a good day to be out in Prague. Think I’ll stay home tomorrow.
